I’ve never been fantastic at the whole “play date” thing. Moms are so picky and annoyingly concerned about their child. I have a kid too and she’s doing just fine so what makes other moms not nervous when dropping their kids off with me? Maybe I’m the weird one… I don’t get stressed when I leave my little cutie with another mom. I’m just going to assume that it’s because I’m a super cool laid back mom. I’m doing pretty good if thats the reputation I have, I think.
Baby girl wanted to have a play date with this really cute classmate of hers. Every day Baby Girl has come home telling about all the silly stuff she and this girl have gotten up to. I ran in to this girls mom at pick up and we scheduled a play date for the two girls. Heres the problem I have with play dates. My kid doesn’t really like to play with dolls and talk about her favorite disney princess. This can cause some issues when the girls go down stares to play. My kids is not perfect she likes to have it her way and like most kids she can get a little fussy when she doesn’t. To combat this when ever we are having a play date at our house I make sure I have an art project or something that does not involve actual toys. It can be a lot of extra work but its better then having one of the girls in tears.
Play dates: avoid tears at all costs and for the most part wing it.
